Construction Crime Watch Partner

HVPD actively seeks out partnerships with all local builders for the purpose of preventing construction related thefts, burglaries, vandalism and other offenses. There is no cost to the builder. Program goals are:

Crime Prevention
Builders are provided with information on target hardening and other crime prevention techniques. Specially training police officers certified in crime prevention are available to conduct security surveys and offer advice.

Suspicious Activity
The Police Department is given authorization to act as an agent for the construction site owner/builder in their absence for purposes of investigating and enforcing all laws against any person found on their property or property under their control without consent or without lawful purpose.

Covert Silent Alarm System
Construction Crime Watch Partners can benefit by having a problem site temporarily monitored for theft and burglary using a special covert silent alarms system (WAVE Alarm) provided in special circumstances by the Highland Village Police Department.

Visual Deterrence
Construction Crime Watch Partners allow the police department to post small “Construction Crime Watch Partner” signs at their sites.
