Available Part Time Positions

KIDS KAMP DIRECTOR
Part Time (Temporary, Seasonal): $15.00-$17.00 Hourly DOQ

Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to oversee and conduct activities and planned programs for the City of Highland Village Summer Day Camp. Supervises 8 or more day camp adult and volunteer workers. Coordinates camp activities, schedules, supplies, and transportation. Responsible for the well-being of camp participants. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age with 3 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting or summer camp, day care, church camp, public recreation, and/or outdoor activities. Must be able to work outdoors, exposed to heat, dust, wind, insects, plants, and other wildlife. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., and to stoop, walk, bend, run, throw, climb, and swim. Must have mathematical and problem-solving skills. Must have a valid Texas driver's license. Must have an Associate's degree. Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test, physical, and thorough background check. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, skills in organizing children’s activities, supervising 8-10 staff workers (including teenaged workers), and creating a positive camp environment. Must have skills in working with children aged 6-12 years, and be able to inform and communicate with parents. Must have knowledge of outdoor and sports activities, arts and crafts activities and other related activities.

KIDS KAMP ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Part Time (Temporary, Seasonal): $13.00 Hourly

Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to support the Camp Director in conducting activities and planned programs for the City of Highland Village Summer Day Camp. Supervises 8 or more day camp adult and volunteer workers. Assists with coordinating camp activities, schedules, supplies, and transportation. Responsible for the well-being of camp participants. Serves as Director when Director is absent. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age with at least 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting or summer camp, day care, church camp, public recreation, and/or outdoor activities. Must be able to work outdoors, exposed to heat, dust, wind, insects, plants, and other wildlife. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., and to stoop, walk, bend, run, throw, climb, and swim. Must have mathematical and problem-solving skills. Must have a valid Texas driver's license. Must be pursuing a college degree. Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test, physical, and thorough background check. Desired Qualifications: Associate’s degree, skills in organizing children’s activities, supervising 8-10 staff workers (including teenaged workers), and creating a positive camp environment. Must have skills in working with children aged 6-12 years, and be able to inform and communicate with parents. KIDS KAMP COUNSELOR
Part Time (Temporary, Seasonal): $11.00 Hourly

Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to oversee and conduct activities and planned programs for the City of Highland Village Summer Day Camp. Counselor must relate to children with courtesy, respect, tolerance, and patience while supervising groups of children ages 6 to 12 years old. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, successfully complete a course in first aid and CPR, and must have a valid Texas driver’s license. Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test, physical, and thorough background check.

BUILDING ATTENDANT 

Part Time: $12.50 Hourly
Under general supervision, incumbents in this position perform a variety of duties in providing support to the users of the Robert Lee DuVall Center.  This includes opening and closing the facility to renters; answering questions and resolving problems during events; performing some light janitorial duties; monitoring building capacities; ensuring activities are in compliance with the Center rules and regulations; following City of Highland Village policies in the event of an emergency or security problem; and ensuring renters fulfill responsibilities.  Successful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings and weekends. 
Minimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years or older.  Must have knowledge of materials and equipment used in public facilities (examples: custodial products, commercial furniture, microphones, CD player, movie screen set up) and have previous experience and/or training working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
