Available Part Time Positions

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD
Temporary, Seasonal, Part Time: $12.00 Hourly

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to ensure the safety and welfare of children when crossing roadways at designated school crossing sites. Performs related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred supplemented by little or no previous experience or training; with a level of maturity and judgment that demonstrates the ability to provide safe crossing for school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

GATE ATTENDANT
Part Time: $9.00 Hourly
Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide customer service at the tollgates at Pilot Knoll and Copperas Branch Park.  Employees in this class collect fees for day use, pavilion rentals, and annual passes; take reservations for overnight camping (Pilot Knoll); and enforce the rules and regulations of the park. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by to two (2) years of previous experience and/or training in customer service and/or routine cash handling functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

CAMPGROUND HOST
Part Time: $9.00 Hourly
Under general supervision of the Park Manager, the Campground Host supports the campground operation and provides a valuable point of contact for campers and visitors.  The primary duty of the Campground Host is to greet and assist park campers and visitors, answer questions, explain the rules and regulations, and ensure a safe and clean environment.  Hosts will work 15 to 20 hours a week and will be expected to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.  Hosts are expected to be familiar with park regulations and points of interest in and near the park. Hosts are required to live in the camping area, have a modern self-contained camping vehicle, and maintain a clean and orderly campsite. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by to two (2) years of previous experience and/or training in customer service and/or routine cash handling functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

RECREATION INTERN
Temporary, Part Time: $10.00 Hourly
Hours may vary weekly and may be tailored to satisfy course requirements.
Under direction of the Recreation Coordinator, plans, organizes and provides supervision and oversight for assigned recreation activities, services, facilities, special events, classes, camps, field trips and programs; conducts outreach and marketing activities with users, donors, sponsors and community groups and performs related work as required. Recreation/Special Events Interns are expected to exercise a high degree of expertise, initiative and independent decision-making to insure customer satisfaction.
 Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma with course work at a four-year college or university in recreation administration, physical education, leisure services or a related field.
