Republic Services Provides Trash and Recycling Service
The City has contracted with Republic Services for solid waste and recycling service, beginning Oct. 2, 2023. The approved monthly resident fee is $20.44 and $18.43 for seniors, which is lower than previous Community Waste Disposal rate.
Every residence will receive a Republic 95-gallon blue trash cart and a 95-gallon green recycling cart for automated pickup service. The trash and recycling cart deliveries will take place throughout the week of September 25. On Monday, the carts will be delivered to the Tuesday collection route, on Tuesday the carts will be delivered to the Wednesday route, on Wednesday the carts will be delivered to the Thursday route, on Thursday the carts will be delivered to the Friday route. Community Waste Disposal will pick up trash and recycling on your normal collection day the week of September 25 and will remove your CWD recycle cart only.
Beginning Oct. 2, Republic Services will provide trash and recycling services. The contract with Republic includes:
- Republic will provide every residence with a 95-gallon blue trash cart for automated pickup service. Or you can place up to 10 bags out for trash service. No customer owned carts will be serviced.
- Republic will provide every residence with a 95-gallon green recycling cart for automated pickup.
- Additional carts can be added for a $7/month fee. Contact Republic at 817-317-2000 to request additional carts.
- Bulk item pickup increases to three cubic yards over the current two cubic yards and will be serviced on your regular trash day.
- Yard waste collection continues on Mondays, yard waste must be placed in brown Kraft bags or bundled and tied. Yard waste placed in carts will be hauled away (including the cart) on your trash day as bulk waste. Republic will not service customer owned carts.
- Curbside household hazardous waste program continues.
- Residents will also have landfill access to the Camelot landfill in Lewisville for a reasonable fee with proof of residency.
You may keep your private trash cart or, beginning Oct. 2, place it inside your new trash cart to be hauled away as bulk waste. Republic Services will not service customer owned trash carts under this contract. If placed out, a personal cart will be considered bulk trash and taken away.
