HVPD Addresses Threatening Social Media Post

Highland Village Police Badge

At approximately 5:50 p.m. on April 10, the Highland Village Police Department received a call advising that a student who resides in Highland Village and attends a school in Highland Village posted what was perceived as a threatening comment with what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol on Snapchat. HVPD officers made contact with the juvenile suspect at his home and recovered an “air soft 9 mm replica” and what appeared to be the same from the earlier image. The suspect will be transferred to Denton County Juvenile Detention. Although this investigation is still open, HVPD does not believe there are any additional credible threats related to this suspect or incident.
