We are gearing up for the annual Salute Our Veterans luncheon. The event will take place on Friday, November 9 at the Hilton Garden Inn of Lewisville. Veterans and a guest are able to attend at no charge through sponsorships from the business and residential community. All other guests attend for $20. Congressman Burgess will be presenting his Congressional Commendation to five local Veterans and we will continue our Veterans Salute. Mayor Wilcox and I attended a Meet and Greet for new DCTA President, Raymond Suarez, on Thursday. Suarez was previously the Chief Operating Officer at DCTA responsible for developing, organizing, and directing the implementation and operation of the agency’s transportation and maintenance services for the A-train and bus system. With more than 30 years of experience, Suarez will continue DCTA’s mission to provide mobility solutions throughout North Texas.

City Manager's Weekly Update

Record rainfall amounts in our area have caused the closing of several of our parks due to flooding. Edgewater Drive is closed due to rising Lake levels, which has caused us to close all access to Sunset Point Park and the Lewisville Lake vicinity. Highland Village Police will be monitoring the area for safety. Pilot Knoll Park boat ramp, day use area, and several campsites are closed. Copperas Branch Park boat ramp is also closed.
