As part of the residential solid waste and recycling contract, Waste Management will now provide a convenient way for you to dispose of your Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronics safely and responsibly.
How Does it Work?
To participate, you must contact the Call Center. Call (800) 449-7587 to set up a collection appointment. The Call Center operators will determine the type and amount of materials you have available for collection. A HHW Kit will be sent by mail to your home with instructions on how to gather and pack the materials. Then a convenient collection date will be set for your materials to be picked up at your home.
Preparing for Collection The HHW Kit includes detailed instructions on how to pack and secure Household Hazardous Waste. Materials like paint, aerosols, garden chemicals, and household batteries must be placed inside the kit. Other items like vehicle batteries may be placed outside the kit.
Collection of HHW and Electronic Materials On the scheduled date, your materials will be collected directly from your home. Materials will be retrieved, loaded, and packed properly by Waste Management technicians for safe transportation, recycling, and disposal.
What if you have more material than will fit into the kit? Don't worry! This pick-up service is unlimited and available year-round. The Call Center will be happy to explain options around combining smaller quantities with neighbors.
There is no additional cost to the resident (this service is included in the monthly garbage fee).
